Ruth Figliuzzi, of Warren, PA., died Tuesday morning, October 25, 2016 at Kinzua Healthcare & Rehabilitation after an extended illness. She was born in Warren, PA., a daughter of the late Alfonso and Lena Manno Figliuzzi. Ruth was a 1948 graduate of Warren High School and was employed with the U.S. Forest Service retiring from there after many years of employment.
She is survived by her sister – Michelene “Mickey” Colgrove of Warren, PA., a niece – Allyson M. Colgrove of Olean, N.Y., a nephew – William F. Colgrove, great nephew – Henry Colgrove and great niece – Lena Colgrove all of Silver Spring, MD
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, William H. Colgrove.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Thursday, November 3, 2016 at St. Joseph R.C. Church at 10:00 A.M. with Fr. Walter E. Packard, former Pastor, officiating. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum of the Resurrection in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery. I am so sorry for the loss of your sister Ruth….I read her obituary in the Observer with my IPad….I now live in Louisville, KY. I do remember you from WHS, and I knew then that we were somehow related, but didn’t know how. ..I do remember that you were so pretty!
I am Betty Ann Pasquino Deck DOB 11/21/1936, daughter of Sam Pasquino DOB 03/27/1909, who was the son of Philamena MANNO Pasquino and Domenico Pasquino, who lived on Jefferson Street, were both born October 19, 1880 in Serra San Bruno, Calabria, Italy.
Now reading your sister’s obit, I now think that your Mother, Lena MANNO, and my Grandmother, Philamena MANNO were related, because Lena MANNO’ s father, MiKe MANNO, (your Gandfather), and my Grandmother Philameno MANNO were brother and sister… my Grandmother Philamena was an Aunt for your Mother Lena…your Mother Lena was a first Cousin of my Father Sam…which means that you and I are Second Cousins! Goodness! That it took me SOOO many years to know how and why, WE ARE Cousins!
My Grandmother, Philamena passed June, 1960, age 79, almost 80 yrs old; My Father, Sam passed December 2005, age 96 yrs, almost 97yrs.
Mickey, please know you are in my heart and prayers with your loss, but I think she’ll be your angel watching over you. And perhaps my note will give you joy in my realization of FAMILY, MY COUSIN!
