Robert J. Preston, 81, of Warren, PA., died Sunday afternoon,

March 18, 2018 at U.P.M.C. Hamot, Erie, PA, after a brief illness.

He was born March 22, 1936 in East Brady, PA. Bob was the son

of Walter V. and Rose Mary Crawford Preston.

Bob was a Warren area resident for the past 54 years and was

formerly of Bradford and East Brady, PA. He was a 1954

graduate of East Brady High School. Bob served with the U.S.

Marine Corp as a Private First Class during the Korean War,

earning a Marine Corps Basic Badge, Riffle Marksman Badge and

National Defense Service Medal. He was employed for over 30

plus years with the Federal Aviation Administration as an

electronic technician. He served as a supervisor at Pleasant

Township, member of the Pleasant Township Volunteer Fire

Department where he served as a past assistant chief. In his

younger years, he was a former Boy Scouts of America Troop

Leader for Troop 45 (Pleasant Twp.), coached youth baseball and

was a forest fire warden.

Bob was an active member of ST. John Lutheran Church where he

served as a church usher and member of the property committee.

He just received his 50 year pin for being a member and past

master from 1985 to 1986, of the Joseph Warren Masonic Lodge

#726 . He was a member of the Coudersport Consistory, Royal

Arch Chapter of Warren, PA., Zem Zem Shrine, Warren County,

Clarion County, Mercer and McKean County Shrine Clubs, Past

Commander of the Zem Zem Legion of Honor, Honorary

member of Syria Shrine Legion of Honor, Royal Order of Jestors,

Erie Court #55, Camel Herders, Stable #44 and Youngsville

American Legion Post 656. Bob was an avid golfer, hunter and

fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and

great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, H. Jeannette “Jenny”

Moore Preston whom he married May 1, 1959 at Chicora, PA.,

4 Children – Rich Preston & Kelly Gilmond of Youngsville, PA.,

Bryan Preston and wife, Teresa, Memphis, TN., Jennifer Barrett

and husband, Rich of Russell, PA., Janice Sheldon and husband,

Chris of Tully, N.Y., 8 Siblings – Dick Preston of Chicora, PA., Val

Preston and wife, Mary Lou of Altoona, PA., Rose Mary Zimmel

and husband, David of Chicora, PA., Sr. Katherine Preston of

Erie, PA., Ed Preston of Clarion, PA., Dan Preston and wife, Lola

of Mt. Jewett, PA., Deborah Hernandez and husband, Ross of

Venice Beach, CA., Bill Preston of East Brady, PA., 12

Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and

nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by

a brother – Ron Preston.

Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304

East Street, Warren, PA., on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from 2 to

4 and 6 to 8 P.M. where members of the masonic lodge will

conduct their funeral ritual at 7:45 P.M.

A funeral service will be celebrated on bob’s 82nd birthday on

Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at St. John Lutheran

Church, 200 Pleasant Drive, Warren, PA., with Rev. Susan M.

Scofield, Interim Pastor and Rev. Jeffrey Ewing, Pastor of First

Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be in Warren

County Memorial Park where full military honors will be

bestowed by members of the Youngsville American Legion
