Robert F. Porter Sr., 96, of Naples, FL. and formerly of Warren, PA. died in Naples, November 19, 2013. He was born October 19, 1917 in Chandlers Valley to the late Ross and Ella Hurlburt Porter. He married Victoria Nelson in 1945, she passed away in 1982. In 1999 he married Martha Johnson in Naples, she passed away in 2011. He was the Senior Vice President of United Refining Company when he retired in 1983. He had served as Captain in the U.S. Army during World War II and was decorated with the Silver Star and 2 Bronze Stars for valor. Bob lived a wonderful fulfilling life. He especially enjoyed the special times he spent with his grandchildren and great – grandchildren. We are all so very proud of him and all his accomplishments. He will be dearly missed. He is fondly remembered by his family for always ending his conversations with “Love You Greatly,” Grandpa. He is survived by his children –Robert F. Porter, Jr. (Glenda) of Erie, PA., John Porter and Ann Porter both of Medina, OH., 4 Grandchildren – Robert F Porter III of Mentor, OH., Alecia K. Satyshur of Erie, PA., Julie S. Purcell of Rolesville, NC. and Blaire Victoria Porter of Arlington, VA., 7 Great Grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and spouses, he was preceded in death by 2 Brothers – Kenneth and Lloyd Porter, 1 Sister – Margaret Abbott. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 600 Pennsylvania Avenue West, Warren, PA. Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. by Fr. Richard J. Toohey, Pastor, officiating. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum of the Resurrection in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery. Full military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by members of the Sheffield/Clarendon V.F.W. Funeral Detail and the U.S. Army Personnel. The family requests memorials be made to the charity of one’s choice.
