Olive “Pix” Vennard, 84, of Warren, Pa. died Wednesday afternoon, April 10, 2013 at Golden Living-Kinzua. She was born January 11, 1929 at Jamestown, N.Y. to the late John and Ruth Weiser Martin. She was a longtime Warren area resident and was formerly of Frewsburg, N.Y. Olive was a graduate of Frewsburg High School and earned her nurse’s aide training. She was employed with W.C.A. Hospital, the former Jamestown General Hospital, and then went to work at the Warren State Hospital, leaving there due to disability. She had also worked at the Floating Restaurant which had been located on the Kinzua Dam. She owned and operated Pix Ceramics. She was active with the Chief Cornplanter Boy Scouts of America Council, former president of the PTA, active with the Warren, PA and Frewsburg, NY band boosters. She enjoyed cake decorating and feeding the birds.

She is survived by her children – Ed Waid and companion, Doris of Jamestown, N.Y., Paul Waid and wife, Becky of Russell, PA. Bruce Waid of Kennedy, N.Y., Scott Vennard and companion, Becky of Chapel Hill, N.C. , Rosemary Fannin and husband, Stephen of Warren, PA., 1 Stepdaughter – Sharon Sheffer and husband, Joe of Cyclone, PA., 1 Sister – Dorothy Mara and husband, Gary of Erie, PA., Sister-in-laws, Susan Ellis and husband, Frank of Frewsburg, N.Y., Jeanette Barbagallo of Twin Falls, ID., 14 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Vennard who died March 20, 2005, 1 Stepson – Lenny Vennard, 3 Half Sisters – Twila M. Lang, Edura Lang, Ethel Graham, 3 Half Brothers – John, Wade and Elwood Martin, 1 Great Grandson.

A funeral and committal service will be conducted Saturday morning at 11:00 A.M. by Rev. Marcus Briggs, Chaplain of the Warren General Hospital.
