Maxine R. Young, 89, formerly of Youngsville, PA. died Friday, July 3, 2015 at Bartlett, TN after an extended illness. She was born July 19, 1925 in Warren, PA. She was the daughter of the late Neil B. Retterer and Dorothy Lesser Retterer Henson Schuler. She had resided in Youngsville since 1946 moving there from Warren, PA. Maxine was a 1943 graduate of Warren High School and was employed at Warren General Hospital as a credit manager. She also worked for the former Drs. Richard A. Peters and John E. Thompson for 35 years retiring in 1996. She was active in many Youngsville Community Affairs.

She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church where she had served on the church women’s guild and was a very active member of the church. She is survived by her daughter, Christina George and husband, Alan of Bartlett, TN.,

2 Granddaughters – Michelle Kramer and husband, Stuart, Alison Potter Clough and husband, Matt, 4 Great Grandchildren, 3 Step Grandchildren, 4 Step Great Grandchildren, 3 Step Nieces and their families. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Norris R. Young whom she married July 30, 1964 in Youngsville, PA., 1 Brother – Kenneth B. Retterer, 1 Stepsister – Frances Rhoades. Friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church Community Center one hour prior to the funeral which will be held in the church on at Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Matthew R. Scott, Vicar, officiating. Interment will be in Youngsville Cemetery, Youngsville, PA.
