Mary E. Bancroft, 88, of Warren, died Friday morning, May 29,

2015 at Warren General Hospital after a brief illness. She was

born July 7, 1926 in Warren, PA. She was the daughter of Walter

and Helen Gern Blackwell. Mary was a lifelong Warren area

resident and a 1944 graduate of Warren High School. She was

employed as a Psychiatric Aide at Warren State Hospital and

employed with Warren Times Observer. She retired in 1989 from

Sylvania Credit Union as an office manager, after 20 years

employment. She was a member of Holy Redeemer R.C. Church

and the church Altar Rosary Society and was a former CCD

Teacher and Eucharistic Minister.

She was a member of the Desert Club, enjoyed playing Bridge

with her friends. She had served as a former Girl Scout Leader.

Mary is survived by her 3 Children – Cheryl D. Stanko and

husband, Robert, Gerald Bancroft and wife, Suky, David Bancroft

and wife, Sandra all of Warren, PA.

7 Grandchildren – Jason Stanko (Melissa) Karin Navarro (Rick),

Matt Bancroft (Sherie), Doug Bancroft (Katie), Lisa Casey (David),

Mike Bancroft, Aaron Kotzbauer (Kathleen), 12 Great

Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Granddaughter, several nieces and

nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her

husband, Lawrence C. Bancroft who died April 24, 2010, whom

she married April 18, 1947 in Jamestown, N.Y., 1 Son – Jimmy

Bancroft, 2 Grandchildren – Dennis and Beth Stanko, 1 Sister –

Carolyn Gnage.

Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304

East St., Warren, PA., on Monday, June 1, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6

to 8 P.M.

A vigil service will be conducted Monday at 1:45 PM and

members of the church Altar Rosary Society will recite the parish

rosary at 7:45 P.M.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at Holy Redeemer

R.C. Church, 11 Russell Street, Warren, PA., on Tuesday, June 2,

2015 at 10:00 A.M. with Fr. James Gutting, Pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery. Those wishing to

place memorials may do so through Holy Redeemer Church
