Jon F. Wiedmaier, 76, of Bennett, CO. and formerly of Warren, PA., died Monday, August 18, 2014 at his residence surrounded by family after a brief illness. He was born August 12, 1938 in Warren, PA. He was the son of the late Perry and Jesse Miller Wiedmaier. Jon was a 1957 graduate of Warren High School where he was an All Star and State competitor in Track and Field, and played Baseball.
Jon was a resident of Warren, PA., until 1974 when he moved to Colorado. While in Warren, he was employed as a Draftsman with the former Pittsburgh Demoine Steel Company, Dorcon and Struthers Wells Corporation until his retirement, when he started, and owned/operated JFW Mining, working until his death. He also owned and operated his home, C J Ranch. He was a member of Kalbfus Rod and Gun Club, was an avid hunter, fisherman, enjoyed camping and boating. He loved all sports, especially motorcycle racing, shooting trap with his brothers and friends, racing stock cars at Stateline and Eriez Speedways. He is remembered as an energetic man, loving life and was very friendly.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Caroline Lanoue whom he married in 1983 in Santa Fe, N.M., 3 children – Vicki Wiedmaier Tomica of Warren, PA., Jay Wiedmaier and wife, Stacey of Strassburg, CO., Tina Seeker and husband, Carl of Warren, PA., 3 Stepchildren – Melissa Miller of Worcester, MA., Ronald Miller of Thornton, CO., Sarah Ryan of Bennett, CO., 1 Brother – Lee Wiedmaier of West Minister, CO., 12 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren , several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 Siblings – George “Bud” Wiedmaier, Betty Wiedmaier Fitzpatrick, Perry Wiedmaier and Neal Wiedmaier.
A private Celebration of Jon’s Life will be conducted at the convenience of the family at a later time. I remember Jon as a fun-loving guy who was always ready to have a good time. His energy was boundless. Nice memories about family functions. He will be missed by many.

Although I was just a kid, I can still remember visiting the pits at Stateline Speedway with my father. I remember Jon Wiedmaier greeting this excited little kid with a big smile and a hand shake. It might not sound like a big deal to most, but I never forgot my new friend I made that cold damp night. It was many years later that I would walk around the track once again with my father, to visit with Jon who was home and sitting in the stands with his family. Again I was greeted with that same big smile and a hand shake. Little did I know that this would be the last time I would see my friend at the track. I am just thrilled to have had the chance to meet such a great man. My heart felt sympathy goes out to Vicki, Jay, Tina and all of Jon’s family. MAY YOU REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND
