Harry L. O’Donnell, 94, of Warren, PA. died Sunday, July 14, 2013 peacefully in his sleep at his residence. He was born January 19, 1919 in Weldbank, PA, (Beantown). to the late Samuel and Gertrude Mealy O’Donnell. He spent most of his life in the Warren area and was formerly of Cleveland, Ohio and Conway, PA. Harry had served with the U.S. Air Force during World War II as a corporal, serving with the 8th Air Force. He earned the World War II victory medal, Asiatic pacific theatre ribbon with 5 bronze stars and a good conduct medal. He was employed as a mechanic with the former Pennsylvania Railroad and Conrail for 39 years, retiring in November, 1980. He had previously been employed with the former Walker’s Dairy. He was a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church and Sheffield Veterans of Foreign Wars Club. Working with the railroad was his life. He is survived by his daughter – Susan Kostyack and husband, Michael of Barnes, PA., 1 Son – Dennis L. O’Donnell and wife, Tracy of Rockwell, TX 2 Grandson – Scott Allan Dahl and Jason O’Donnell, 2 Great Grandsons, 3 Great Granddaughters, several nieces and nephews In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Eleanor S. Carlett O’Donnell who died June 17, 1990 whom he married February 14, 1941 in Warren, PA., 2 Sisters – Mary Elizabeth O’Donnell, Thelma K. Kennedy, 1 stillborn sister – Frances O’Donnell 1 Brother – Ralph E. O’Donnell. Friends may call at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 600 Pennsylvania Avenue West, Warren, PA. Friday, July 19, 2013 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted by Fr. Richard J. Toohey, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery.
