Geraldine L. Cook Lindsey, 82, of Russell, PA died Friday, January 16, 2015 at U.P.M.C. Hamot in Erie, PA.

Born on May 23, 1932 in Warren, PA she was the daughter of the late Shirley C. and Alice E. Park Bean. In July of 1951 she married Wayne Cook, who died on June 8, 1977. In March of 1982 in Dade City, Florida she married Robert L. Lindsey, who died in 1995.

Geraldine was a longtime resident of Warren and lived in Okeechobee, Florida for many years, but thought fondly of her years growing up in “Beantown,” or Weldbank. She was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed reading, crocheting, and loved being surrounded by her family for campfires and family reunions. She also loved getting together with family and friends to play cards. Geraldine was a member of the Baptist church and attended regularly until her health declined. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society’s Suite Elite.

Surviving are her children, Cindy Andersen and her husband, Robin, of Russell, PA, Gregory Cook of Grand Island, NY, Wayne Cook, Jr., and his wife, Stacy, of Russell, PA and Lakewood, NY, Randy Cook of The Rouse Home in Youngsville, PA and Jerry Cook and his wife, Bonnie, of Everett, PA, 2 step-sons, John H. Lindsey of Massachusetts and James Lindsey of Connecticut, 7 grandchildren, Shelby Shuey, Kim Sweitzer, Ryan Cook, Jordan Cook, Arianna and Chandler Cook, and Greg Lindsey, 5 great-grandchildren, 1 brother, Ronald Bean and his wife, Marie, of Sheffield, PA, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husbands, Geraldine was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Laverne Bean, her twin brother, James Bean, and her youngest brother, David Bean, 2 sisters, Betty Koppenhofer and Barbara Stanko, and 2 half-sisters, Lucille Smith and Nedra Harris.

There will be no visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service to be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA, with the Rev. Marcus Briggs, officiating. Memorial contributions in Geraldine’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
