Francis “Frank” X. Bauer, Jr., 84, formerly of Warren, PA, died on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the Western Rehabilitation Care Center in Danbury, CT.

He was born on January 19, 1932 to the late Frank X. Bauer, Sr. and Agnes Dechant Bauer. He was a 1950 graduate of St. Joseph High School in Lucinda, PA. Immediately following graduation he took employment with the Pennsylvania Railroad in Erie, PA, then joined the U. S. Air Force in April 1951 serving with the 36th Fighter Bomber Wing during the Korean Conflict, holding the rank of Staff Sergeant.

Frank was a salesperson for the J.C. Penney Co. in Clarion, PA, Warren, PA, and in Olean, NY. In 1959 he moved into advertising sales with the Leader-Vindicator in New Bethlehem, PA, then in 1961 moved to the Jamestown (NY) Sun and in 1962 continued sales with the Jamestown Morning Star. Then in 1963 Frank continued newspaper sales with the Warren Times-Mirror, which later became the Warren Times Observer, retiring in 1987. Shortly thereafter Frank took up automobile sales with two different local dealerships, followed by employment with the Blair Co., retiring in 1994.

Frank is survived by a son, Frank X. Bauer, III, and a daughter, Nancy M. Bauer, 3 sisters – Mrs. William (Martina) Huefner of Clarion, PA, Mrs. Edward (Evelyn) Kearney Jr. of Erie, PA, Mrs. Chester (Geraldine) McMillen of Summerville, PA, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy M. (DeStefano) Bauer, whom he married on November 22, 1956 in Warren, PA, also an infant sister and brother and three brothers – Alvin, Robert and Charles and a sister, Madeline.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be conducted at 2:00PM on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 600 Pennsylvania Avenue West, Warren, PA, with Fr. Richard J. Toohey, Pastor, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to Mass at the church. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum of the Ascension at St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery.
