Florence M. Scalise, 95, of Warren, PA., died Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Kinzua Healthcare, Warren, PA., after an illness of the past 2 weeks. She was born April 13, 1921 in Catanzaro, Italy and was the daughter of the late Frank A. and Mary Mancuso Scalise.

Florence was a lifelong Warren area resident. She was a 1939 graduate of Warren High School. She was employed with the former G.T.E. Sylvania as a secretary in the engineering department, for 26 years, retiring in 1982. She was formerly employed as a receptionist at the Warren State Hospital for 5 years. Florence was a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church, a 50 year member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court #834, the church Cursillo movement #55 of Warren, served as a religious education teacher for 25 years and worked in the church soup kitchen. She also was a member of the Warren Senior Center.

She is survived by her nephew, James W. Graziano and wife, Jan, niece – Joanne Anderson all of Warren, PA., nephew – Earl Scalise, nieces – Clare Landry, Monica Crow all of California, several great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Josephine M. Graziano, 1 Brother – Chief Petty Officer, Joseph T. Scalise.

Friends may call at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 600 Pennsylvania Avenue West, Warren, PA., on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted by Fr. Richard J. Toohey, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery.
