Duane Avery, 79 1/2 , of Warren, PA. died Thursday morning, February 23, 2012 at 3:50 A.M. at Warren General Hospital after a brief illness. He was born September 21, 1932 in Ridgway, PA. to the late Gerald and Ellen Nelson Avery. Duane has been a Warren area resident since 1957. He was a 1952 graduate of Ridgway High School and had served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a Private First Class. He was employed with the former Lorangers for 10 years and with the former G.T.E. Sylvania as a Mold Maker for 27 1/2 years retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America, Kinzua Kar Club, he enjoyed and owned his 1929 Pontiac and a 1967 Pontiac GTO.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marlene E. Kemmer Avery whom he married September 9, 1961 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Ridgway, PA., 2 Daughters – Lisa Mack of Panama City Beach, FL., Chris Morrison and husband, Bruce of Pittsfield, PA., 1 Brother – Max Avery and wife, Naomi Jean of Ridgway, PA., 4 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Brother – Roger Avery. Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA. on Saturday from Noon until 2:00 P.M. when a funeral and committal service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Kevin Haley, Pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, officiating. Full military honors will be conducted at the funeral home by members of the Clarendon/Sheffield V.F.W. funeral detail and the U.S. Army personnel. Interment will be in Oakmont Cemetery, Ridgway, PA.
