Dennis O. Gray, 72, of Warren died Tuesday evening, October 4, 2011 at his residence after a brief illness. He was born December 27, 1938 in Warren to the late Raymond and Mabel Langworthy Gray. He was a lifelong resident of Warren and a 1956 graduate of Warren High School. Dennis was a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard where he was company commander of Company A which encompassed the Corry, Warren and Bradford, Pa. areas. He had served in the U.S. Army at the O.C.S. at Ft. Benning, Georgia as 1st Lieutenant. He later resigned his commission and joined the 98th Regiment of the U.S. Army Reserves, serving a total of 32 years. He was employed for 29 years with the United Refining Company, retiring from there as Garage Supervisor. He had previously been employed with the former General Concrete of Starbrick, Pa. Dennis was a member of the First Lutheran Church, 28th Infantry Division Assoc., 112th Infantry Regiment Assoc., 28th Heritage Assoc., War Vets Association of Jamestown, NY., Sugar Grove AMVets Post 50, Military Officers Assoc., Warren American Legion Post 135, and the North American Hunting Club. He enjoyed all military history and was very patriotic. He was an avid hunter and world traveler. He is remembered through his family as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. His grandkids, nieces and nephews were his entire life. He was a person who loved life and was loved by all who knew him. Denny was a talented woodworker, evident through his pride of building his own home. He was a humble person, who was always eager to lend a hand; he will be greatly missed by anyone who knew him.
