Charles “Lindy” McConnell, 87, of Warren, PA. died Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at the John and Orpha Blair Hospice Home after an extended illness. He was born May 26, 1927 in Warren, PA.

He was the son of Arthur and Adeline Spohn McConnell.

Lindy was a Warren area resident his entire life and a 1945 graduate of Warren High School. He had served with the U.S. Navy pacific conference during World War II as a Storekeeper 3rd Class. He was employed with the Warren Post Office for 33 years, retiring in 1982 as a Window Accountant. After his retirement, he found great joy in antiques and collectibles. He owned and operated a shop on the east side of Warren known as C. McConnell’s where many close friendships we’re formed He was a member of Holy Redeemer R.C. Church and the Warren Knights of Columbus.

He was dearly appreciated by the Warren Community residents, had a phenomenal sense of humor. When younger he was an avid hunter, fisherman and trapper.

Lindy is survived by his wife of 68 years, Margaret A. “Peggy” Sulo McConnell whom he married February 1, 1947 at Holy Redeemer Church, Warren, PA., 3 Children – Linda M. McConnell of Warren, PA., Kathy A. McConnell of Erie, PA., Kevin C. McConnell of Pilot Point, TX., 2 Sisters – Jane Kitelinger and Bertie Glotz and husband, Andy all of Warren, PA., 4 Grandchildren – Heather Dangelo Barnard and husband, Andy, Ashley Dangelo Csuhta and Buddy, Travis and Justin Dangelo, 3 Great Grandchildren –Alexis Marie, Emma Rose and Ava Ann Csuhta, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 Brothers – Joseph and Melvin McConnell, 1 Sister – Adeline McKelvey. Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA. on Friday, February 6, 2015 from 2 to 5 P.M. where a vigil service will be conducted at 4:45 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Redeemer R.C. Church, 11 Russell Street, Warren, PA. with Fr. James Gutting, Pastor, officiating.

Entombment will be in the Mausoleum of the Ascension at St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted by members of the U.S. Navy and the Sheffield/Clarendon V.F.W.
