Dear Susan and family,
Carol was such a thoughtful and caring friend. I truly missed her when it became important for me to stop quilting and start caring for my elderly father. But seasons of life change.
I know your hearts are grieving her loss and send my condolences to you all. Carol was dear to everyone who truly knew her and her quilts and pillowcases have touched countless lives of children in many, many places. She made the world a better place for all the lives she touched ~ including mine!
My sympathies to you all ~ Paulette Severtson
I was very sorry to read of Miss Songer’s passing. I had her for Home Economics back in 1978-1979 when it was still Home Economics. She was very kind, and I enjoyed her class. I was especially proud of a macrame project she helped me with. My deepest condolences to her family. Holly A. Bonavita
I was in Quilt Guild with Carol. She was a beautiful quilt artist and so willing to share her talent and her love of quilting with our group. My sympathy to her family. Toni Loomis
I’m sorry for your loss. As a student at WAHS, Miss Songer taught me sewing and fabric arts. I have continued to use those techniques to this day. She was kind, caring, and patient! I still have a pillow and other items I made then.

Miss Songer was a kind and patient teacher who touched the lives of so many students during their years at Warren Middle and High School. My most vivid memories of her are from the All-School Musicals, where she worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure we had every costume we needed. She guided us through quick changes with calm precision and, in one unforgettable moment, even came to my rescue when a skirt slipped off during a dance scene!
She was a quiet yet ever-present force whose dedication and care left a lasting mark on all who knew her. May she rest in peace, and may her family and loved ones find comfort in knowing the difference she made in so many lives.
Dear Songer Family, My deepest condolences to you and your family. Miss Songer was my Home Economics teacher during my high school years and also my Advisor in the color guard my senior year. We had many fun learning moments in both class time and on the field. I have many fond memories and still to this day enjoy crafting with many things she taught us. May she be at peace and pray that the Lord will give you comfort and healing.
