Carl T. “Opa” Russo, 92, of Warren, Pa., died peacefully, Monday morning, October 30, 2017 at the Rouse Warren County Home, Youngsville, PA. Carl was born May 19, 1925 in Warren, Pa., son of the late Carl C. and Frances Scalise Russo. He was a Warren area resident his entire life. He had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Seaman 1st Class, and employed as a clerk with the Warren Post Office for 25 years, retiring in 1987. Carl was a active member with Holy Redeemer R.C. Church where he participated in many church activities including the Holy Name Society. He was a member of the Warren American Legion Post 135 and Lakewood Rod & Gun Club. Carl enjoyed completing crossword puzzles, his weekly meetings at Peppermill Restaurant with his postal retiree friends, he was an active volunteer with the Warren Salvation Army and Warren General Hospital. He especially enjoyed his daily walks with his wife, Bobbie.

Carl is survived by his wife of 44 years, Aurelie M. “Bobbie” Hobel Russo whom he married June 9, 1973 in Warren, PA.,

3 Step Children – Richard H. White and wife, Barbara, of Warren, PA., Gerald V. White and wife, Cheryl of Spartansburg, S.C., Barbara M. Nuhfer and husband, Timothy of Reading, PA., 5 Grandchildren – Erin Cochran (Ryan), Kara White (Eric), Danielle Scroble (Jordan), Matthew Nuhfer (Judith), Nikki White, 4 Great Grandchildren – Sydney & Carter Cochran, Ruffin & Nolan Nuhfer, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Brother – Anthony Russo, 2 Sisters – Mary Ann Scalise, Adelaide “Addie” Russo

Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 11:00 A.M., at Holy Redeemer R.C. Church, 11 Russell Street, Warren, PA., with Fr. James Gutting, Pastor, officiating, assisted by Deacon Joseph Lucia. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum of the Ascension in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery.
