Bernice Lundmark Sears, 96, of Indiana, PA. and formerly of Akeley, PA., died Saturday evening, June 15, 2019 at Moorehead Place, Indiana, PA., after an extended illness. She was born October 1, 1922 in Akeley, PA., daughter of the late Victor and Vidella Wiggins Lundmark. Bernice was an Indiana, PA., resident since 1968.
She was formerly employed with the former New Process Company. She was a member of Calvary Evangelical Free Church and Akeley United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Church WSCS and former Sunday School Teacher. Bernice was an avid sewer, quilter and earned several awards for her quilting at Indiana County Fair. She was a member of the Indiana Quilters Guild, and homemakers. One her greatest’s joys in life was being a grandmother and great grandmother, for whom she quilted each grandchild a quilt.
She is survived by her 3 children – Kathleen L. Sears of Russell, PA., Jerry V. Sears and wife, Janice of Indiana, PA., Jack L. Sears and wife, Marion of Palm Coast, FL., 1 Sister – Elsie Barrett of Akeley, PA., 10 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Lewis Sears whom she married August 30, 1946 in Akeley, PA., who died October 25, 1999, 3 Sisters – Anna Lundmark, Evelyn Haller, Beverly Hunt.
Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA., on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 6 to 8 P.M.
A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Akeley United Methodist Church, Akeley, PA., with Rev. Jerome Kennedy, Pastor, officiating.
