Ann Jackson Blackman, 93, a resident of Cambridge of Warren died Monday morning, November 25, 2013. Ann was born on April 7, 1920 to Allan C. Jackson and Louise Chapman Luce and lived in Warren for most of her life. Ann was a 1938 graduate of the National Cathedral School in Washington, D.C. and attended Ward-Belmont School in Nashville, T.N. Ann was a member of the Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church of Warren. She was also a member of Warren Players Club, Conewango Valley Country Club, Warren Women’s Club, Garden Club, Warren General Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, Volunteer for the Window Box at Warren General Hospital, and Friends of Library Theatre. Ann was an avid traveler to Europe and many excursions with family within the United States. She loved horses, steeple racing, riding, and also boarded horses in a field on Redwood Street and later on Daughtery Run Road. She was a great downhill skier and enjoyed that well into her middle ages. She continued her love of the theatre and entertaining by taking her grandchildren to many of her plays in which she performed. Ann worked many years for the Warren County School District at both North Warren and Home Street Elementary Schools. Ann is survived by four children; Suzanne B. Tome of Ashville, NY, Frederick C. Blackman (Margaret) of Bristow, VA, Nancy B. Chapman of Warren, PA, and Charles R. Blackman of Jamestown, NY. Also surviving are three Grandchildren; Wendy Galvin of Canton, GA, John Hickey, Jr. of Jamestown, NY, and Tracy A. Tome-Nystrom of Warren, also four Great- Grandchildren; Jaya Nystrom, Katelyn Hickey, Stephen Galvin, and Gabriel Mansi, a half sister – Mary Brant Landon of Charlottesville, VA, a favorite cousin, Hewitt Chapman of New York City, N.Y.. In addition to her parent Ann is preceded in death by as sister, Barbara Conway, Step-father, John Wilson Ayres Luce, 2 nephews, James C. Blackman and Thomas Conway. Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 29, 2013 from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 P.M. at Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Matthew Scott, Vicar, officiating.
