Andrew J. Glotz, 89, of Warren, PA. and formerly of Russell, PA. died Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Warren General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 24, 1925 in Monessen, PA. He was the son of Carl and Rozella Yazinski Glotz, Sr. Andy was employed for 44 years at Barnhart-Davis, where he managed the machine shop, retiring in 1988.

He was a member of Holy Redeemer R.C. Church and a former member of St. Joseph R.C. Church. He along with his brothers, helped construct St. John’s R.C. Church in Tidioute, PA.

He was a former member of the Warren Knights of Columbus Council. He loved gardening in his flower beds and vegetable garden. He was the most happiest, when he was the busiest, he is remembered as a hard worker. He loved being a caregiver, especially helping to take care of his parents, mother-in-law and sister-in-law. Family was always the center of his life, putting his wife and daughter, ahead of anything else. He especially enjoyed and loved listening and dancing to Polka music.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, who affectionately called him “Lover”, Bertie McConnell Glotz whom he married September 12, 1959 at Holy Redeemer R.C. Church, Warren. PA.

His daughter, Andrea Grolemund and husband, Ray of Kane, PA., his brother, Harry Glotz and wife, Helen of Warren, PA., 1 Step Granddaughter – Amy Halvorson and husband, Chris, 4 Step Great Grandchildren – Travis, Chase, Hailey and Hannah, all of San Antonio, TX., several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 Brothers – Fred, Mike, Peter, Paul and Carl Glotz, Jr., 4 Sisters – Mary Mihalik, Anna Valko, Sophie Kobojek, Josephine Newton.

Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA. on Sunday, July 12, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. where a rosary will be recited at 1:30 P.M. and a vigil service will be conducted at 8:00 P.M.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Monday, July 13, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Redeemer R.C. Church, 11 Russell Street, Warren, PA., with Fr. James Gutting, Pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery.
