Allen R. Lyon, Sr., 82, of Warren, PA. died Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Warren General Hospital after an illness since, May 2013. He was born January 21, 1932 in Youngsville, PA., son of the late William A. and Minnie Cooper Lyon. He was a Warren area resident most of his life. He had served with the U.S. Army as a Corporal during the Korean War, serving with Company I, 112th Infantry Regiment, 28th Division in Germany, earning an occupational medal. He was employed as a quality control inspector in the Bearings Dept. of SKF, formerly Marlin Rockwell of Jamestown, N.Y. retiring in 1989 after 38 years employment. He was also a self-employed roofer. A member of the First Church of the Nazarene of Warren, Tidioute V.F.W., served as Past Commander of the Warren American Legion Post 135, Warren Senior Center, and a driver for Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nancy Zwald Lyon whom he married December 13, 1952 in Warren, PA., 6 Children – Judy Stockhausen and husband, Lewis of Bear Lake, PA., Kathie Reed and husband, Allan of Pittsfield, PA., Carol Nuhfer and husband, James of Harrisburg, PA., Rebecca Bayne of Oil City, PA., Allen R. Lyon, Jr. and wife, Julie of Cochranton, PA., Michael Lyon and wife, Jora of Pittsfield, PA., 2 Sisters – Geneva Nagy of Warren, PA., Alice Mabb of Ballston Spa, N.Y., 2 Sister-in-laws, Marilyn “Jean” Gustafson of Warren, PA., Mary Carol Cartney of Titusville, PA., 16 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 10 Brothers and 1 Sister and 1 Granddaughter.

Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA. on Sunday, January 26, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. A funeral service will be conducted there Monday, January 27, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. by Rev. G.A. Hankins, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park where full military honors will be conducted by members of the Clarendon/Sheffield V.F.W. Funeral Detail and the U. S. Army military personnel.
