Alice J. Russell, 92, of Warren, PA died Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Warren General Hospital. Alice was born on October 3, 1921 in Bemus Point, NY the daughter of the late William and June Williams Agnew. She was a graduate of Falconer High School, Class of 1940. Having met Floyd G. Russell after graduating, their romance was interrupted by World War II, but their love for each other grew through correspondence while she worked at Bell Air Craft in Buffalo, NY and Floyd fought in both the African and European Theaters. After the war they were married on August 26, 1946 and settled in Warren, PA. Alice worked at New Process until the birth of their first son, William, on January 31, 1949. About the time of their son’s James birth on December 3, 1957 they built the Quality Inn which they operated for 40 years. Alice loved to travel around the country, especially to Florida, Canada and the western part of the United States. Alice will be lovingly remembered by friends and family for her deep love of all of God’s creation, especially her family and all the flowers, birds, and beauty of the natural world. Alice was a lifelong Methodist and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Warren, PA. She was also a member of the Zonta Club of Warren. Surviving are her two sons, James W. Russell of Warren, PA, William Russell and his companion, Barb Swanson and her children, Sara (Chad) McGuire and their two children, Marley and Remy, and Amy Punsky, two grandchildren, Zachary William Russell of Jamestown, NY and Ryan (Crystal) Alexander Russell of Kennedy, NY, two great-grandchildren, Avaylynne Rose Russell and Alexander Ryan Russell of Kennedy, NY, a niece, Pauline Morrish of Burbank, CA, and sister-in-law, Rita Agnew of Billings, MT. In addition to her parents and husband, Floyd F. Russell, who died on November 4, 1996, Alice was preceded in death by three brothers, Gerald, Norman and Roy Agnew and Barb’s daughter, Mary Punsky Wilson. Friends may call at the Donald E.
