Dorothy L. Heckman, 66

Dorothy Louise “Dorie” Dunning Kaufman Heckman, 66, of Russell, PA. went home to her Lord and Savior, Saturday morning, December 24, 2011 at the John and Orpha Blair Hospice Home, Warren, PA. after an illness since October 2011. She was born August 8, 1945 in Pittsburgh, PA. to the late Charles S. and Ruth Hayes Dunning. Dorie grew up in Penn Hills and graduated with high honors from Penn Hills High School and with Distinction from Otterbein College in Westerville, OH with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught for 12 years in Westerville, OH, Kindergarten for in Holiday Park, PA. and was the Center Director of the Penn Hill Kinder Care Learning Centers for 13 years. After retiring, she drove a van for special needs students and in 1999 she worked as the Administrative Assistant for the Western PA Prison Outreach Ministry where she also volunteered in leading a weekly Bible study in Spanish in the Federal prison. She was a member of the Akeley United Methodist Church and a former member of the Holiday Park United Methodist Church of Plum Borough, PA.

She enjoyed boating, skiing, reading, genealogy, sewing, camping and working on the computer to prepare power point presentations and web pages. Served on many local church committees and several Conference Teams and as a Certified Lay

Speaker and pianist. She presented a monologue of her great-great grandmother portraying life of a Circuit Rider’s family in her “Journey Through Methodist History” in PA., MD, DE, VA, and MN Methodist Churches where her ancestors had served as pastors. She was a women of strong faith and values, which made a great partner in her husband’s ministry.

She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Rev. David T. Heckman, Pastor of the Russell and Akeley United Methodist Churches, whom she married in 1984, 2 Daughters – Tracy S. Kaufman and her husband, Steven Cassidy of Dublin, OH., Sherry L. Conrad and her husband, Sean of Steubenville, OH., 1 Step Daughter – Michelle Heckman Corna and husband, Eric of Vandergrift, PA., 5 Grandchildren – Nick Ruefle, Megan and Mark Cassidy, Delaney Colder and Kaitlyn Conrad, 1 Cousin – Robert Dunning Weaver of Auburn, CA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Step Mother – Charlotte Gay Dunning, her 1st Husband, Keith Kaufman whom she married in 1966.

Marilyn Jean Stanton, 83

Marilyn Jean LeBaron Stanton, 83, of Russell, currently of Golden Living Center, Warren, PA. died Wednesday, December 21, 2011. Marilyn was born March 29, 1928 in Gerry, N.Y., daughter of the late George and Mabel Fargo LeBaron. She was a 1944 graduate of Cassadaga Valley High School. She was a lifelong resident of Russell, she was the wife of John Henry Stanton whom she married September 21, 1946.

Known throughout the area for her beautiful singing voice, she had been a member of the Russell United Methodist Church choir for 45 years, also singing with the Calvary Singers for 13 years traveling in the tri-state area sharing her love of the Lord through music. Marilyn was a talented musician and that talent along with her love for music was passed down to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She attended Praise! Fellowship of Russell.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Evelyn Camfield, Sherleigh Westley, Frances Bower, a brother G. Marvin LeBaron and a great granddaughter, Kayla Grace Zwald.

She is survived by her husband, John Henry Stanton, a sister Joan Imm of Port Charlotte, FL, daughter Trudy Haight of Russell, PA., 2 sons, Bradley Stanton and wife, Annette of Russell, PA., Dean Stanton and wife, Maria of Warren, PA., 5 Grandchildren, 5 Step Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren and 6 Step Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Anna M. Pierson, 87

Anna M. Pierson, 87, of Sheffield, PA. died Friday, December 23, 2011at the Warren Manor Nursing Home after an extended illness. She was born July 1, 1924 in Warren, PA. to the late Andrew and Anna Hanusik Kujava.

She has resided in Sheffield area most of her entire life and was a 1942 graduate of Sheffield High School. Anna attended Tiona United Methodist Church and was a member of the Sheffield V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She always enjoyed baking and being a grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her 4 children – Marcy A. Carlson and husband, Fred of Clarendon, PA., Gale Pierson and wife, Esther of Ludlow, PA., Gregory Pierson and wife, Mary of Warren, PA., Brian Pierson and wife, Tracy of Kane, PA. of Butler, PA., 5 Grandchildren – Nicole Otero and husband, Adrian, Amanda Carlson and partner, Chelsea Wallen Carlson, Sara, Andrew and Austin Pierson and 3 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Harley Pierson who died in 2005, 4 Brothers – Ludwig, Paul, Joseph and John Kujava, 2 Sisters – Mary Ciaramella and Helen Fornari. Peter J. Polley, 48

Peter J. “Pete” Polley, 48, of Irvine, PA. died Sunday, December 18, 2011 at his residence unexpectedly. He was born August 14, 1963 in Warren, PA. and was a lifelong resident. Pete was a 1981 graduate of Warren Area High School and was employed with Warren General Hospital in the Central Supply Sterilization Dept. for 30 years. He enjoyed snowmobiling, boating, 4 wheeling and motorcycling. He was happiest outdoors.

He is survived by his parents, John Polley of Youngsville, PA., Beverly “Bev” G. Stites Polley of Warren, PA., his stepmother – Agatha “Aggie” Polley of Youngsville, PA., his companion, Lori Font Nelson, 1 Son – Anthony P. DeMuro and his wife, Allison of Stone Mountain, GA., 2 Brothers – Rodney Polley of Russell, PA., Edwin Polley of Sheffield, PA., 2 Sisters – Dorothy Bero and husband, Mike, Cynthia Shine all of Warren, PA., several nieces and nephews also survive. Albert L. Schenck, 72

Albert L. Schenck, 72, of Warren, Pa. died Friday morning, December 16, 2011 at St. Vincent Health Care Center, Erie, Pa following an extended illness. Born January 9, 1939 in Corry, Pa. to the late Paul Russell and Lora Cornish Schenck, he lived much of his life in Warren. Albert graduated from Youngsville High School in 1959 where he excelled in football and track and field. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was employed at Lorangers Manufacturing as a production manager for 40 years before retiring. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, billiards and hunting for leisure. A 47 year member of the Warren Elks, he also was a member of the Warren Eagles, Blueberry Golf Course and supported Warren Sports though the boosters.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Mary Dangelo Schenck, whom he married September 14, 1963 in Holy Redeemer R.C. Church; Three children – Lori Moorman and her husband Ray, of Moon Twp, Pa, Pam Jameson and her husband Ron, of Youngsville, Pa, and Albert M. Schenck and his wife, Erin of Darien, Ct; Seven siblings – Paul “Junie” Schenck and his wife, Jackie of Bemus Point, NY, Phyllis Jordan and her husband Dick, of Lottsville, Pa, Helen Kjornsberg of Lakewood, NY, Dorothy Matjoulis of Jamestown, NY, Pauline Schenck and her companion Bob Girts, of Jamestown, NY, Ronnie Schenck and his wife Donna, of Lottsville, Pa, and Kenny Schenck of Bearlake, Pa; Seven grand children – Samantha Jameson Cober, Matt “Al” Moorman, Nicole Moorman, Jessica Jameson, Julie Jameson, Braden Schenck, and Ayla Schenck.

In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by one brother – Bob Schenck; and one sister – Dorie Sechriest.

Gerald (Gary) W. Kays, 71

Gerald (Gary) W. Kays, 71, of Warren, PA. died Thursday morning, December 15, 2011 at Warren General Hospital after an extended illness. He was born December 18, 1939 in Warren, PA. to the late Harold James and Mary Elizabeth Grace Kays. He was a longtime resident of Warren and was employed with numerous factories in the Warren and Jamestown areas retiring due to illness. He had served in the U.S. Army as a Private First Class.

Gary is survived by his wife of 41 years, Roxann Abraham Kay whom he married December 18, 1969 in Warren, PA., 4 Children – Quentin Kays and wife, Dawn and Kevin Kays all of Warren, PA., Danny and Lisa Kays both of Jamestown, N.Y., 1 Sister – Marilyn Ciprich of Warren, PA., 2 Granddaughters and 2 Step Granddaughters. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 Brothers – Charles (Buddy) and Richard (Dick) Kays, infant sister. A private funeral service will be conducted at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. at the convenience of the family by Rev. Marcus Briggs, Chaplain of the Warren General Hospital. Theresa M. Juliano, 88

Theresa M. Juliano, 88, of Warren, PA. died Wednesday afternoon, December 14, 2011 at her residence. She was born October 4, 1923 in Sinopoli, Italy to the late Antonio and Mary Corso Zucco. She has resided in Warren for the past 62 years and was employed with the former New Process Company retiring after 27 years service as a supervisor in the Returns Dept. She was a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church and volunteered at the church soup kitchen, and the school cafeteria for many years. She loved her children, grandchildren and the comfort of her home.

She loved tending to her garden, especially her roses. She is remembered as truly the most wonderful mother, wife, and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Angelo “Ange” A. Juliano whom she married June 4, 1949 at St. Callistus R.C. Church, Kane, PA., 4 Children – Sylvia Russell, Mary Beyer and husband, Tim, Tina Ziegler and husband, Rob all of Warren, PA., Angelo P. Juliano and his wife, Lynn of Rochester, N.Y., 3 Sisters – Jennie DeFilippis of Niles, OH, Angela Pellegrino and husband, Tony of Warren, PA., Josephine Cameneti and husband, Jim of Warren, OH., 7 Grandchildren – Ryan Russell and his fiance, Amanda of Erie, PA., Emily Beyer and husband, Eli Grill of Warren, PA., Christian Beyer and wife, Kim of Erie, PA., Michael Ziegler of Pittsburgh, PA., Jonathan Ziegler of Erie, PA., Corey Juliano of Binghamton, N.Y., Peter Juliano of Rochester, N.Y., Great Granddaughter – Grace Emily Beyer of Erie, PA., several nieces and nephews.

Patrick John Weatherby, 31

Patrick John Weatherby, 31, of Russell, PA. died Wednesday morning, December 14, 2011 as the result of a one vehicle automobile accident. He was born May 23, 1980 in Warren, PA. and was a longtime resident of Russell, PA. He had formerly resided in Salisbury, N.C.. Patrick was a 1998 graduate of Eisenhower High School and was formerly employed for 3 years with Allen Tech of Allentown, PA. He enjoyed his 4 – Wheeler and his dog, Buddy Roe.

He is survived by his wife, Clair Thomas Weatherby whom he married August 20, 2011 in Russell, PA., his father, Willard R. Weatherby and his companion, Gloria Britton, his stepfather – Rob Meyers, all of Russell, PA., Maternal Grandmother – Yvonne Fay Lee of N. Warren, PA., 1 Brother – Willard Daniel Weatherby of Grand Rapids, MI, 2 Sisters – Amy Faye Weatherby-Johnson and husband, Jeremiah of Russell, PA., Katie Marie Schuyler Whitmore and husband, Eli of Meadville, PA., 1 Step Sister – Mandy Dickerson and husband, Eric of Williamsburg, VA., 2 Nieces – Peyton Faye Johnson, Akayla Weatherby and 2 Nephews – Luke Johnson, Takeo Weatherby. mother and father-in-law, Sherry and John Thomas of Pittsfield, PA. Larry Clark Larson, 90

 

Larry Clark Larson, 90, died Tuesday morning, December 13, 2011 in the John and Orpha Blair Hospice Home. Born February 11, 1921 in Frederick, MD he was the son of the late Oscar and Blanche Miller Larson. The family moved to Jamestown, NY in 1928 and has resided there until moving to Warren PA in October 2011. He was a 1940 graduate of Jamestown High School and served in the U.S. Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant in the 8th Air Force in the European Theatre stationed in London during WWII. Following his Air Force discharge he was employed for many years at Blackstone Manufacturing Co. He later worked at Marlin Rockwell Corp from which he retired in 1987. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and of the War Vets Assn. For over 25 years he enjoyed being a part of the Tuesday men’s luncheon get together.

He is survived by his wife Ethylene Swanson Lindblad Larson, whom he married June 29, 1989. He is also survived by his daughter Patricia (Abe) Rosenberg of Jamestown, and a son, Timothy (Terri) Larson of Balston Spa, NY; three step children – Beth Konkus of Stuart, FL, Peter Lindblad of Jamestown, and Nancy Lindblad of Warren; nine grandchildren – Jessica (Matt) Harvey of Jamestown, Erin (Brad) Beckstrom of Frewsburg, NY, Mark (Rachel) Carraher of Jamestown, Emily Wood of Lancaster, PA, Katie Chapman of Groton, NY, Andrew Shodi of the USAF in NJ, Adrian Shodi of Warren and Pittsburgh and Christopher and Ryan Larson of Balston Spa; and several great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Constance Foley Larson, whom he married in 1944 and died October 3, 1987; his daughter – Sharon Dorman in 2005; his brother, Robert in 1990; and an infant great grandson, Landyn Beckstrom.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 pm Friday, December 16, 2011 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 556 East Second St, Jamestown 14701 with Chaplain of Lutheran Social Services, Dan Rumfelt, officiating. Charles R. Dorotics, 48

Charles R. Dorotics, 48, of Warren, PA, died unexpectedly Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Warren General Hospital. Born November 6, 1963 to the late Charles B. and Nancy M. Papalia Dorotics, he lived most of his life in Warren. Following his 1982 graduation from Warren High School he lived in Colonial Heights, Virginia where he was a Union Sheetmetal Worker in the Richmond, VA and Washington, D.C. areas. He was currently employed with Cambridge Warren in the maintenance department. Chuck attended St. Joseph R.C. Church.

He is survived by his sister – Cindy Mascaro and her husband Steve, of Warren; a nephew – Brooks Rossman, of Erie, PA; a niece – Jenna Weldon and her husband Charlie, of Coral Springs, FL; one aunt, one uncle and several cousins.
